Upon the drop of the green flag Berryhill immediately captured the first position and never looked back. Prior to an early caution Berryhill's advantage over second stretched to an impressive 3/4 lap advantage. Upon the restart the same results continued while Berryhill was never challenged for the lead capturing the night one victory by over half a lap. " I really want to thank my grandparents Bob and Jane for allowing me to have such a great race car, with out it I don't think we could have the results we are having, this is just awesome!" said tanner after Friday nights victory.

Saturday nights event brought out a larger field of competitors to battle in the 100 degree heat of summer. Berryhill started his heat race in the sixth position and began to close in on the leaders as he diced the field and then back off the third place car settled in passing for third on the second to last lap of the ten lap event. When asked by the Vision team why he didn't go for the win, Berryhill responded " I wanted to secure an inside line for the feature event and not jeopardize his starting position by winning and getting put at the rear of the field by an inversion." The young thinking driver was correct as his mid pack run put him in the second row inside for the beginning of the final nights 30 lap main event.

Upon the drop of the main event Berryhill wasted no time as he put his number seventeen Sawyer Chassis three wide going into turn one. Upon the exit of turn two down the backstretch Berryhill had already opened up a commanding lead of eight car lengths over second place. It once again was a repeat of Friday nights main event except the caution flag would not fly and Berryhill was able to lap up to the Third position where he tucked in and followed the third place car with two to go and captured his third feature win in three starts at the fast high banked Will Rogers Speedway. " Man, this Sawyer chassis is an awesome handling car it was like I was on a rail just really easy to drive, what a great team and car." said Tanner after winning his third straight feature event at Will Rogers.

Injury Sidelines Tanner Berryhill For Rockingham ASA Challenge Race

Tulsa, Ok. 6-19-2009, Vision Racing has decided to sideline its young stand out driver for the upcoming ASA challenge series race at "The Rock" in Rockingham North Carolina. Tanner had sustained an injury prior to the Indianapolis Gleaners 200 race at ORP. While racing in a dirt Outlaw Micro Sprint Car, Berryhill was in hot lap sessions when an out of control car spun in front of him causing his car to flip. The impact was hard, but not too bad for the Vision Racing team to repair the car and allow Berryhill to go on and win the main event! Tanner reported of being sore after the Victory.

While on long runs testing and racing his ASA stock car, Berryhill again began feeling pain in his back and lower neck. "It is my decision to find a replacement driver for the Rockingham race that will do a great job for Vision Racing, Enlyten and all of its sponsors". "I am saddened to end Tanners run for the title of "Rookie of the Year" this year but he is only fifteen and he will have the same opportunity next year". "Right now our only concern is for him to get well for long races." "We will be racing Tanner in shorter length regional events to build his experience and keep him behind the wheel until he is well enough to return to the long (hour plus) races". "We are looking at several replacement drivers for the ASA Challenge Series at his time but a decision has not been finalized". Sunday May 30th, 2009 TULSA, OK. - All the greatest drivers in the world have, at one time, had to show the ability to show versatility in the sport of auto racing. AJ Foyt could take a "Big Car" from the Indiana State Fairgrounds dirt track and show up the next week at the famous Milwaukee Mile and not only put it in the show against the nations best, but win the race! Mario Andretti would jump from Indycars to Formula One to midgets, sprints, champ cars and even NASCAR stock cars and would always show why his legend is talked and even sung about in today’s culture. Tony Stewart could be in a dirt late model at Eldora winning one weekend and on the high banks of Talladega besting the field the next. Let me remind you that Stewart also is an Indycar champion as well in the Indy Racing League in 1997. All of the greats in the sport of auto racing have been able to jump into different forms of racing and success would follow them.

In todays racing world legends aren’t created they are earned and many of today’s young drivers are attempting to earn their legend status and one of them is a driver named Tanner Berryhill out of Tulsa Oklahoma. Starting from the outside front row on a hot dusty dry afternoon (Sound like days of past?) Berryhill piloted his #17 Americash Advance, Excel Sports Medicine Sawyer Chassis Sprint into the number one position and never looked back stretching his lead to nearly a half lap advantage over local hot shoe Frankie Flood. The skill and precision needed to win at this challenging dry slick dusty speedplant was at Tanners dispose as he made it look like second nature as the 30 lap feature would wind down and victory would be had.

With wins in every type of race car and any type of surface whether dirt, asphalt or concrete, Berryhill sets his sights on a win in the ASA late model Challenge series "Gleaners 200" in a couple of weeks on June 13th at O'Reillys Raceway Park in Indianapolis Indiana. Berryhill has run one ASA asphalt Challenge late model race and is setting his goals on being the youngest competitor to win in the Challenge series. Tanner just recently turned fifteen and will not be sixteen until after the final race of the ASA Challenge series season at Memphis Motorsports park in early November 2009 so he has time on his side to break into the record books and a legend is surely developing before our eyes.

March 15, 2009 Punta Gorda, Fl. - Sunday afternoon concluded the Charlotte County Motorsports Park ASA South Series season opener with the triple crown national legends event. The Vision Racing, Enlyten sponsored driver had a very strong weekend over the three days of racing (Triple Crown) posting two class National wins and a strong second place finish securing the title of the King of the Triple Crown. 14 year old Tanner Berryhill Steps Closer To NASCAR

Tulsa, Ok. Dec.11, 2008 - Vision Racing’s Tanner Berryhill made an impressive move this last weekend toward securing his future as a driver in the top levels of NASCAR. While competing in his first ever late model race at Houston Motorsports Park, Berryhill put on a show of why so many are calling him the next great driver of the modern racing era.

While only competing in seven truck series starts this year and capturing the front row qualifying position five of seven times with all but two finishes outside the top five with one pole and one win, Vision Racing has decided to sell the truck program and take Berryhill to the next level. “I am so excited about the opportunity to race the late model cars at Houston and Memphis the following week” said Berryhill. With that in mind Vision Racing, LLC entered Tanner into his first start in the ASA Late model sanctioned event at Houston Motorsports Park and he once again impressed all of those around him.

“We were surrounded with great people with the support from Umschied Race Services, David and J.C. were great to work with and had a lot of experience at this track” said Vision Racing representative. Under a calm cool star lit Houston sky Berryhill qualified his National Cash Lenders.Com mount in the 7th position under a formula one style hot lap session. Eighteen cars entered the event with an inversion that would certainly make for an exciting event. Unfortunately the inversion meant Berryhill would start in the 11th position. “I know we have a lot better car than where we are starting, so I will move quickly in the race since its only 40 laps” said Berryhill before the start.

Upon the drop of the green flag the hard charging #17 began its charge to the front. Within the first few laps it was obvious that the #17 would be in the hunt for victory by race end. By mid race the Vision Racing #17 was in the 7th position and moving forward quickly. The race was halted for a spin which allowed Berryhill to be a threat to the top five. Upon the restart Berryhill made a charge at victory and found himself sitting in the 6th position upon lap 30 with ten to go before caution number three showed its head. Tanner’s spotter was asked for Tanner to back off the #14 in hopes to maintain its position and the track championship. Vision Racing owner agreed and the message to Berryhill was sent to stay behind the #14 to allow a season championship. “I really did’t want to back off but I understand I could have ruined his entire season by passing him and knocking him out of the championship, I may need that favor someday” stated Berryhill after taking the checkers in the 5th position.
